Devon Schools Cross Country
Very well done to the boys and girls who ran on Saturday in the Devon Schools Cross Country.
The event held on the Exhibition Fields in Exeter comprised some flowing grassland with thick muddied sections through woodland and scrub. The going was heavy and spikes soon had weight added as the mud clung on until the next section of grass. With hills and rises to pace themselves over the students performed well against the best from the rest of Devon. Willow ran in 30th and Kate 15th in the inter-girls event whilst ever improving Noah came home 23rd in a field of 37. However, it was inter-boy Jasper who recorded the best finish from Clyst Vale as he powered through the heavy conditions to cross the line 5th. He now qualifies for the south west event to be ran in Newquay later in the year. However, congratulations to all who stepped up this high standard of running with such energy and enthusiasm.
